Singapore

2008

Nature has long been a source of inspiration for music, and many musical ideas can be traced back to the sounds, rhythms, and beauty of the natural world. This unique journey combines music and nature, bringing students to Singapore, the renowned "Garden City", to experience its rich natural environment, learn about its achievements in environmental conservation and sustainability, explore its green culture and innovative technologies, and connect with local communities through music.

Under the guidance of local instructors, students will develop their choral singing skills while gaining first-hand exposure to Singapore's multicultural society through visits to local primary schools and interactions with students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Participants will also visit a senior care home, sharing music and bringing warmth and joy to the elderly through their performances.

The program includes a visit to the Night Safari, where students can experience wildlife in a safe and natural setting while observing the fascinating behaviours of nocturnal animals. They will also visit the NEWater Visitor Centre to learn how advanced purification and ultraviolet technologies transform treated water into a sustainable and valuable water resource. In addition, students will explore the Singapore City Gallery through interactive exhibits and large-scale models, gaining insights into Singapore's urban planning and its commitment to preserving both heritage and the natural environment. A visit to the Singapore Discovery Centre will further enrich their learning through engaging exhibits, interactive experiences, and multimedia presentations showcasing Singapore's past, present, and future.

Beyond music training, the World Music Academy has carefully incorporated a variety of hands-on learning experiences, including an ice cream-making workshop at the Science Centre Singapore. Combining music, culture, education, community engagement, and exploration, this journey offers students a meaningful opportunity to broaden their horizons, deepen their understanding of the world, and create lasting memories of learning and personal growth.
