Harry Chiu is a conductor and French horn player with an international background spanning professional performance, conducting, and music education. He completed an accelerated Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programme at The Juilliard School, where he was awarded the Kovner Fellowship (full scholarship), and later earned a Master of Music degree in French Horn from the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin. His early musical training included studies at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, which contributed to a musical perspective shaped by training and professional experience across Asia, the United States, and Europe.

Alongside his instrumental training, Mr. Chiu received conducting training under Maestro Jeffrey Milarsky at The Juilliard School, and under Alan Cumberland at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He has conducted ensembles including the Juilliard Lab Orchestra, the Asian Youth Orchestra, school orchestras and bands, gaining hands-on experience with orchestras of varying sizes and levels.

As a performer, Mr. Chiu has appeared extensively with leading orchestras across Europe and Asia. His orchestral experience includes engagements with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong, Macao Orchestra, Opera Hong Kong, Sinfonie Orchester Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and the KBS Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed at major venues including Carnegie Hall.

​Mr. Chiu’s musical achievements have been widely recognised from an early age. He is a Champion of the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, representing Hong Kong on full scholarship, and a multiple-time winner of the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival and HKAPA Concerto Competition. His accolades also include numerous scholarships from institutions such as the Hong Kong Jockey Club, HSBC, and international music organisations.

As a conductor, he places strong emphasis on ensemble listening, musical discipline, and helping students develop confidence and musical awareness within a supportive rehearsal environment. His experience as both a professional orchestral musician and an educator allows him to guide students with clarity, empathy, and high artistic standards.
